Finding Your Way Back to School: Wayfinding Projects Enhance Campus Experience

Effective wayfinding signage goes beyond branding, and it provides far more than directional signage. Think about signage on college campuses. As an article in College Planning and Management put it, it’s “more than part of the landscape.” Campus Signage Projects: Wayfinding, Branding, and Better Design Standard university signage identifies buildings, provides guidance to visitors, complies with regulatory mandates (like ADA standards) and whether it’s placed on the interior or exterior, signage must perform 24/7. Metro Sign & Awning works with public and private schools, colleges and universities to create effective, beautiful, and cost-efficient signage for students, parents and visitors. Our talented designers and fabricators and experienced installers get it right the first time, reducing change orders, headaches, and budget and

Digital Signage Increases Revenue: Then and Now

Many individual business owners, chain accounts, schools and developers (shopping centers) have recognized the advantage of content displayed through digital signage. Unlike the radio, TV or internet; a sign – tradition or digital – communicates and advertises your brand and product to customer traffic at the point of sale. This includes people who may work in the area, be driving by with a need for a specific product while seeing your sign and pull in right at that moment. There are many studies available to support the increase of revenue through digital signage as well as financial support to make an investment. Recently, Industry Weapon published some impressive stats from its 2015 marketing report on digital signage: 76 percent of consumers have entered a site because the sign

Suffolk University: Signs Point to the Future

From a 21-panel, 20-foot high HDP laminate exterior wall fixture to interior signage and vinyl graphics, we are delighted to say that Metro Sign & Awning was involved in Suffolk University’s bold new look – long before the building project was finished.   21-Panel, 20-Foot High Wall Metro Sign has been excited about Suffolk University – 20 Somerset in Boston since before construction began in 2013. The building is home to the university’s Communication & Journalism Department, and houses several levels of science education, including separate floors for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Metro Sign & Awning Announces A New E-Book on the Intricacies of Wayfinding Signage

We’ve written in this space about wayfinding signs more than once, but we’re still getting questions about them from business owners, architects, developers and construction industry people. To satisfy their curiosity and give everyone a place to start finding answers on their own, we’ve now compiled a brand new e-book on Wayfinding Signage. It covers such important topics as: What makes wayfinding signage so difficult to do well? Why bother struggling to get wayfinding signage just right? How to take the big first step on any wayfinding signage project. and much more. As experts in wayfinding (and other) signage, we actively enjoy sharing what we know with others. So it was fun for us to compile this easy-to-read e-book, which

Improving Retail Signage

Retail sales depend greatly on giving prospective customers a clear idea of what you’re selling, and then making it fast and easy for them to get what they want, when they want it. That’s why retail stores often live (or die) on the quality of their signage. Whether you are running a “Mom and Pop” sandwich shop or coordinating brand and local signage for a regional chain, here are some simple suggestions to help you open a new store, or improve the signage in any retail operation: Keep Your Signs Looking New In most retail situations, nothing turns off potential customers more quickly and permanently than the feeling your store is old, out of date, or dirty.
