Now Showing on the Big Screen: New Signs Showcase New Technology

National Amusements’ Showcase Cinema XPlus theaters are large format auditoriums with Dolby Atmos™ sound and some of the most advanced digital projection and screen technology available in theaters today. Recently, National Amusements updated its brand image to reflect its expertise in using technology to enhance the theater experience. Throughout the rebranding, the company has relied on Metro Sign and Awning to update interior and exterior signage to ensure the buildings – inside and out – represent the brand well.

Timely Solutions

Just in time for the 2015 Thanksgiving weekend, Metro crews installed the back-lit channel letter signs, mounted to custom backer panels in Farmingdale, NY, Island 16. That installation was managed in conjunction with our New York partner, Vallesigns.

Interior Signage That Gets Noticed

In the Farmingdale location as well as in National Amusements’ Lowell, MA theaters, some of Metro’s work included –

• New illuminated identification signage in the lobby
• Projecting illuminated restroom signs
• New stainless back lit/blue LED illuminated branded signage to shine the light on the XPLUS brand

Exterior Signage: From Design to Permitting to Install

In Lowell, the Metro team worked with National Amusements to change the faces of a high-rise pylon sign to reflect the theater’s re-branding. As a full-service signage partner, Metro handled permitting details, right down to attending the special permit hearings, to ensure the brand would be properly represented.

More recently, Metro crews have appeared at Showcase Cinema de lux in Randolph, updating signage at that location as well.
