Mixed Materials in Interior Signage? Right, on Time

Sometimes it takes a combination of experience and expertise to “bring it all to life.”

For The Blackstone, a 145-unit residential build out in Boston, CWC Builders needed interior signage that was ADA compliant and that reinforced the interior design theme. CWC selected Metro Sign & Awning because, among other things, Metro’s design team and fabricators could handle the entire job in-house. That was important, because CWC’s architects would specify a combination of materials not every signage company can handle.

CWC recognized one of the benefits of partnering with Metro Sign is that many of our designers and fabricators have more than 25 years of experience combining materials – not to mention delivering complicated jobs on time, on spec, and on budget. Chemetal 902 Brushed Aluminum laminated to .06″ acrylic backer panel, with .032″ black (or other std. Rowmark ADA color) applique with #2 Braille.

CWC’s sleek, stylish interior signs were made of Chemetal 902 Brushed Aluminum, back-spray painted and laminated to a .06″ acrylic backer panel, with a .032″ black applique and clear beaded #2 Braille on top – so managing the process well was paramount to the job.  And it was time consuming. Because Metro Sign was able to accommodate any last-minute changes, either from the architect or from the inspector (Fire Department), CWC was confident The Blackstone’s occupancy permit could be issued on time.

And it was.

Metro Sign & Awning sent color sample chips and materials samples, fabricated a sample sign and submitted it for architectural approval, and then began production and installation. Metro’s design and fabrication team was delighted to work with CWC’s team to develop the specs and then take its conceptual design to reality.
