Is Your Store Signage Drawing Traffic for Holiday Shopping 2016?

Shopping center developers know they need to help tenants capture point-of-sale traffic on Black Friday –  the busiest shopping day of the year. More importantly, effective signage should attract shoppers all year long.  An out-of-date center with tired signage just won’t draw the traffic it needs to. But rather than a complete renovation, sometimes the most effective – and affordable – solution is to replace or upgrade the existing signage. Updated Signs Draw Attention, Increase Mall Traffic Metro Sign & Awning frequently works with developers and municipalities to modernize freestanding sign structures. We have retrofitted signs on many established properties to utilize dynamic, digital boards to display news about new tenants, promotions, and shopping center events – ultimately increasing traffic and sales. West of Chestnut Project a Marvel, Inside and Out

All of us here at Metro Sign & Awning send a hearty “Congratulations!” to the team at Dellbrook and everyone involved in the West of Chestnut development in Quincy. We were excited and honored to be involved very early (probably before the earliest point in this time-lapse video!) interior signage evacuation map Metro design Boston While the video shows the dramatic transformation, you don’t see all the behind-the-scenes planning and design decisions that go into creating interior signage that complements a beautiful interior while serving an important (possibly life-saving) purpose for residents and visitors. More on that later. For now, here’s a glimpse at some of the preliminary sketches, hinting at how professional sign designers work to ensure interior signage meets codes, is ADA compliant, and is created and installed to be

Designing Innovative Signage for The Center at Innovation Drive

Early in 2015, Metro Sign & Awning began designing a freestanding (pylon) sign for a corporate environment that would re-imagine Tewksbury’s workspaces. The corporate campus needed a sign that said more than “we’re here.” It needed to say, “we’re here, we’re corporate, we’re cool, and we’re different.” Enter Metro’s innovative design team.  Exterior Signage To Transform a Corporate Entrance The birthplace and original headquarters of Wang Computers, today The Center at Innovation Drive hosts entrepreneurs as well as companies like Corning Life Sciences. The mixed-use development includes office, R&D and laboratory space in addition to warehousing, and lifestyle amenities such as doggie day care, a fitness center (for humans) and a fleet of rental bikes. LEED certification is in process for the four conjoined buildings totallling 750,000 sf of rentable space. Metro Delivers Inspired Design, Innovative Materials

Back to School with Vinyl Graphics and Interior Wayfinding Signage

Interior directional signage (also called interior wayfinding signage) is incredibly helpful to building users on a day-in and day-out basis. Of course, those interior signs also must meet ADA standards. But when a facility’s use has changed or a new group of building visitors is expected, a little extra emphasis can help everyone. Bright and bold vinyl graphics to the rescue! Going Back to School with Vinyl Interior Graphics Summer’s just begun and it’s already time for institutions to prepare for classes (and students!) next semester. Metro Sign & Awning is helping day care facilities, community centers and other organizations prepare for Back to School season with new vinyl graphics that add color, enhance branding, and assist building users with wayfinding.

Suffolk University: Signs Point to the Future

From a 21-panel, 20-foot high HDP laminate exterior wall fixture to interior signage and vinyl graphics, we are delighted to say that Metro Sign & Awning was involved in Suffolk University’s bold new look – long before the building project was finished.   21-Panel, 20-Foot High Wall Metro Sign has been excited about Suffolk University – 20 Somerset in Boston since before construction began in 2013. The building is home to the university’s Communication & Journalism Department, and houses several levels of science education, including separate floors for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Put An Improved Face On Your Business – The Benefits of Entry Awnings

In a typical building, the glass entry doors and any adjacent windows create more opportunity for unwanted energy loss (in winter) and gain (in summer) than any other structural element. During the summer, for example, a single square foot of unshaded glass can allow more energy into a building than an 8′ x 10′ insulated wall. That’s a big reason why, as we’ve noted here, designers and business- or building-owners are looking more frequently toward adding new entry awnings at key traffic and visibility locations. Once installed, high-quality awnings help limit the location’s energy gain and loss every day and night, and do this during their considerable service lifetime. As a result, their benefits work out to be extremely cost-effective.

9 Green Signage Tips You Can Use to Wow your Clients

When it comes to maintaining or upgrading business signage, one thing many business owners often fail to realize is that “going green” can be a great way to get better signage for less money. Signs That It’s Still A Great Country

While Metro Sign & Awning has long been happy to call Boston our home, we nevertheless get excited when we’re asked to design and/or fabricate signage for natives of other parts of the U.S. Whether we’re working with a West Coast architectural firm, or designing custom signs for a national partner based in Texas or Tennessee, we love what we do, wherever we’re asked to do it. In fact, we’re just as proud to point some pylon signs we’ve installed in South Carolina or to show off photos of a giant banner in Chicago as we are wayfinding signs or a public park here in the Boston area. We’ve even developed our ROI calculator than any business around the country
