Digital Signage Increases Revenue: Then and Now

Many individual business owners, chain accounts, schools and developers (shopping centers) have recognized the advantage of content displayed through digital signage. Unlike the radio, TV or internet; a sign – tradition or digital – communicates and advertises your brand and product to customer traffic at the point of sale. This includes people who may work in the area, be driving by with a need for a specific product while seeing your sign and pull in right at that moment. There are many studies available to support the increase of revenue through digital signage as well as financial support to make an investment. Recently, Industry Weapon published some impressive stats from its 2015 marketing report on digital signage: 76 percent of consumers have entered a site because the sign

Now Showing on the Big Screen: New Signs Showcase New Technology

National Amusements’ Showcase Cinema XPlus theaters are large format auditoriums with Dolby Atmos™ sound and some of the most advanced digital projection and screen technology available in theaters today. Recently, National Amusements updated its brand image to reflect its expertise in using technology to enhance the theater experience. Throughout the rebranding, the company has relied on Metro Sign and Awning to update interior and exterior signage to ensure the buildings – inside and out – represent the brand well. Timely Solutions Just in time for the 2015 Thanksgiving weekend, Metro crews installed the back-lit channel letter signs, mounted to custom backer panels in Farmingdale, NY, Island 16. That installation was managed in conjunction with our New York partner, Vallesigns. Interior Signage

Convert Your Existing Signs to LED Technology – Part 1

Time marches on, and with it, technology. There was a time when neon and fluorescent lighting for signage was “high tech” and just about the best we could do. But those times are now gone. Today, we’ve discovered LED illumination, and it’s advantages are literally stupendous. They include: Major savings on operating costs and maintenance. Less pollution, land-fill, and greenhouse gas emissions – so they’re better for the environment. A more modern appearance for any signage – even outdated ones. Better visibility at night, in fog or rain – just about any weather conditions. Far less prone to breakdowns, damage, wear and tear, or unforeseen failures, so they’re more reliable. Last far longer, so your signage investment stretches over many

Suffolk University: Signs Point to the Future

From a 21-panel, 20-foot high HDP laminate exterior wall fixture to interior signage and vinyl graphics, we are delighted to say that Metro Sign & Awning was involved in Suffolk University’s bold new look – long before the building project was finished.   21-Panel, 20-Foot High Wall Metro Sign has been excited about Suffolk University – 20 Somerset in Boston since before construction began in 2013. The building is home to the university’s Communication & Journalism Department, and houses several levels of science education, including separate floors for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Working with Ted Butler, project manager at Suffolk Construction, made the job that much more enjoyable. At every stage of the long and complicated project, Butler and everyone at

Awnings & Canopy Structure: Purposefully Shaped, Designed to Please

When we’re talking about awnings and canopies, size, shape, design, and materials matter.  Although they are designed for practical purposes, awning and canopies also add interest and eye-catching appeal to buildings and entrances. Awning Shapes, Canopy Designs Shed and waterfall awnings are what most people think of when they think of as traditional awning shapes. Alternatives to the most traditional awning shapes include concave, elongated dome, gable designs, and other “artistic” awnings that function as design features, especially on otherwise unremarkable building architecture. Designed to Demand Attention, Built to Last Likewise, while common canopy styles are functional and offer a clean visual element, more elaborate styles can serve special purposes. For example, cantilevers, multigon, and sail shapes lend themselves to

Signs of Good Things To Come: In Brockton

Brockton Enterprise Center: A Plan Comes Together Creating a mixed-use development with residential units, interconnected streets, and dozens of retail businesses requires tremendous cooperation among city agencies, business owners, and developers. It also requires many different types of interior and exterior signage, all of which must work together to serve the development’s many users. Metro Sign & Awning began working with property owners at Trinity Financial to begin creating signage for the $100 million Enterprise Center project more than a year before Enterprise Center, Phase I, opened to the public in November 2015. City officials and business leaders expect that the project at the corner of Main and Centre Streets will serve as a beacon and an anchor for continued

Hidden Messages In Signage

Most communication is simple, with a single layer of meaning. But once you get into the world of graphics – where the best signage lives and thrives – you begin to find opportunities to communicate more than one message at a time. Here are a few examples of public, possibly familiar graphics that exemplify the potential for signage to be a powerful tool of communication. Wendy’s has a new logo, but it contains a hidden message that’s very old. Can you spot it? … It’s the word “mom” woven into the red-headed girl’s collar. I guess the idea is to evoke home-cooked foods, family dinners, and perhaps even a dose of unconditional love. None of that is guaranteed when you’re

The Economic Value of On-Premise Signage

Signs are a fundamental mechanism for announcing your business to the world, attracting new customers, and setting expectations about your brand, your products, and your service. Over the years, businesses just like yours have tried and tested a variety of signage strategies and tactics, and have generally settled on those that work best. This Infographic details some of the most effective ways that business owners use and improve their signage to help their businesses grow. (Click Infographic to see full image)   Although signs are shown to be effective at generating new business, the majority of companies have only one or two signs. Larger companies, however, are likely to have three or more signs. Perhaps this is one of they
