All of us here at Metro Sign & Awning send a hearty “Congratulations!” to the team at Dellbrook and everyone involved in the West of Chestnut development in Quincy. High-Quality Interior Signage at Historic School Features Innovative Material

Arches punctuate the distinctive architecture of St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA. The 150-year old institution has a dedicated faculty, alumni, and more than 350 students, many of whom live on St. Mark’s campus. When it was time to update interior signage, it had to be carefully designed to add to, rather than distract from, the historic private school. Metro Sign & Awning had created other signs for the school, including a hand-carved donor sign. The sign was created by our in-house Design Department to echo the school’s distinctive arches and hand-crafted by our Fabrication Department. For this most recent project, the administration contacted Metro Sign & Awning’s Keene, NH location for conceptual designs for the new interior signage.   Strong,

Exterior Signage: Styles and Types of Freestanding Signs

Thanks to posts or a self-supporting base, freestanding signs are architectural structures separate from buildings and other structures. While they are often designed to be about on eye-level with drivers and/or pedestrians, others are considerably taller, intended to serve as architectural centerpieces for a business or corporate park. 5 Signs Your Business Signage Needs an Upgrade

You maintain your business signage, keep it clean and free of graffiti. But as with any major investment, there may come a time when it no longer performs as you expected, no longer brings you the visibility, customers or brand awareness it originally did. Designing Innovative Signage for The Center at Innovation Drive

Early in 2015, Metro Sign & Awning began designing a freestanding (pylon) sign for a corporate environment that would re-imagine Tewksbury’s workspaces. The corporate campus needed a sign that said more than “we’re here.” It needed to say, “we’re here, we’re corporate, we’re cool, and we’re different.” Enter Metro’s innovative design team.  Exterior Signage To Transform a Corporate Entrance The birthplace and original headquarters of Wang Computers, today The Center at Innovation Drive hosts entrepreneurs as well as companies like Corning Life Sciences. Finding Your Way Back to School: Wayfinding Projects Enhance Campus Experience

Effective wayfinding signage goes beyond branding, and it provides far more than directional signage. Think about signage on college campuses. As an article in College Planning and Management put it, it’s “more than part of the landscape.” Campus Signage Projects: Wayfinding, Branding, and Better Design Standard university signage identifies buildings, provides guidance to visitors, complies with regulatory mandates (like ADA standards) and whether it’s placed on the interior or exterior, signage must perform 24/7. Metro Sign & Awning works with public and private schools, colleges and universities to create effective, beautiful, and cost-efficient signage for students, parents and visitors. Our talented designers and fabricators and experienced installers get it right the first time, reducing change orders, headaches, and budget and

Back to School with Vinyl Graphics and Interior Wayfinding Signage

Interior directional signage (also called interior wayfinding signage) is incredibly helpful to building users on a day-in and day-out basis. Of course, those interior signs also must meet ADA standards. But when a facility’s use has changed or a new group of building visitors is expected, a little extra emphasis can help everyone. Bright and bold vinyl graphics to the rescue! Going Back to School with Vinyl Interior Graphics Summer’s just begun and it’s already time for institutions to prepare for classes (and students!) next semester. Metro Sign & Awning is helping day care facilities, community centers and other organizations prepare for Back to School season with new vinyl graphics that add color, enhance branding, and assist building users with wayfinding.
