Would Your Sign Win An Academy Award?

Metro Sign and Awning graphic designers and fabricators love bringing signs to life. But would our jobs make a good movie? Well, probably not. Carefully fabricating any sign requires extensive knowledge and experience with a host of tools, techniques and materials. And painting the finished sign is another highly specialized part of the process. While we know that watching paint dry isn’t exactly the stuff that wins Oscars or Academy Awards, we had to share this video of one of our great painters at work. (Thanks, Pete!)

When you watch this video, we think it’s obvious that Pete knows his job and does it well – with style! But this video isn’t intended to make light of the process of painting. Sign painting is extremely important not only because it’s vital to ensuring the sign attracts attention – the right kind of attention, that reflects well on your business – but also because properly painted signs look better, longer, and provide a better ROI for their owners.

Award-Winning Signs Don’t Make Speeches

Like everyone else, we enjoy a little entertainment, but our day jobs aren’t about making movies. We make signs – and more than a few of them have been award-winners. And while we’d like to thank the Academy in a humorous acceptance speech, we actually have our team to thank. We’re proud of our whole cast. Metro designers, fabricators and installers work hard, collectively and individually, and we think their efforts certainly deserve a “Lifetime Achievement” Award (or two). Last year, they earned several awards, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
