Metro’s Turnkey Signage Solutions: The Middleman Doesn’t Work Here

Exterior Signage, Metro Sign & Awning, Others, Partners-Developers-Contractors, Residential Signage

In addition to working with individual businesses to handle their signage needs – inside and out – Metro Sign & Awning also offers Design/Build turnkey services for developers.

While we’ve done our share in North America (from Canada to Puerto Rico and all over the US) we’re very excited about some of the projects we’ve completed in Boston – including Waterside Place, North Point Residential, One North of Boston and The Victor.

Developers tell us they like working with Metro Sign & Awning because there’s no middleman: From initial concept design discussions to sign schedules, permitting, and all the way through to installation, Metro is capable of handling the entire signage process.

West Coast Partnership Comes to Boston

With hundreds of thousands of key data points, checklists, and almost constant revisions to construction plans and tenant negotiations, signage can be the last thing on a developer’s mind.

It was Metro’s experience and expertise in handling every aspect of signage that first caused California-based Ad Art to request our help on several large Midwest and New England design-build projects.

Some of these partnerships led to jobs right here in Boston, like the Waterside development and First Republic Bank in the Financial District. And, as is often the case, Metro’s Permitting and Project Management Departments got involved in the municipal negotiation process, working closely with the Boston Redevelopment Authority and Inspectional Services to get the job done on time, on budget.

Design/Build Demands Attention to Detail

Not only did Metro’s fabricators and designers work with AdArt and First Republic to ensure the architects’ vision was properly realized, our project managers, engineers, and installation team also advocated on First Republic’s behalf to ensure the projecting signs – essential for visibility on those narrow, busy city streets – could be and would remain securely fastened to the building’s stone exterior.

While installation is often thought of as the “last piece” of a job, it’s always critical.  Metro’s installation experience puts both developers and city officials at ease. We often see ways to get a job done easier, safer, and faster than others. For example, to ensure the proper and safe installation at First Republic Bank, as well as to maintain traffic flow as much as possible, Metro secured sidewalk permits and a police detail so that we could properly access the mounting area with our bucket truck and crane, allowing our highly-trained installers to work more swiftly and safely.
