ROI Payback From Your Mobile Signage – Put Your Vehicle Wraps to Work

We’re all used to seeing cars and trucks – not just on the road, but in magazine and newspaper advertising and on TV commercials – with their plain-wrap “native”paint jobs. So it’s no surprise when any vehicle wrapped with vivid graphics and text advertising stands out and gets attention. The American Trucking Association, for example, claims that 90% of the people it has surveyed actively notice advertising wraps on vehicles they see, and 80% of them remember the products advertised on those vehicle wraps. That’s one of the big reasons wrapping your business vehicle(s) can produce very gratifying returns on your investment (ROI). Another reason is that advertising-wrapped vehicles regularly collect 600 to 1,000 impressions for each mile they travel.

Metro Sign and Awning in 2014: Creating Signs to Bring Our Customers’ Message to the Public

Metro Sign and Awning recently added two new talented members to our Project Management Team: Adam Brodeur and Tom Rogers. Adam comes to Metro with a strong background in the service industry, having previously supported a customer service team with great success. We like Adam’s unswerving attention to detail, along with his ability to ‘get the job done.’ With Adam on board, we further increase our confidence that our customers will receive the extremely high level of support we insist on from our Sales Team. Tom comes to Metro Sign with several years’ experience in various aspects of the signage industry.  Having worked in project management at both Sunshine Sign and Viewpoint Sign, Tom is already highly knowledgeable in both

Inside Metro Sign and Awning – Craig Wondrasch, Cost Estimator / Purchasing Manager

Although the products rolling out the big door are nearly always “one of a kind,” and often highly artistic or creative, at the base of it all, Metro Sign and Awning operates around a factory. Every day, artisans and support staff deal in actual, physical goods that have to be cut, bent, shaped, carved, welded, sanded, finished, painted, and more. Nothing happens until that material and the requisite supplies for the various manufacturing processes are procured. So in a real sense, Craig Wondrasch sits at the very heart of the Metro Sign and Awning complex. Pricing the Materials and Supplies – Putting It All Together “In my purchasing role,” explains Craig, “I look at a complete set of drawings for

Custom Signage Supports Corporate Identity: The Difficulties and Pleasures of Working in Wood

Custom Signage Supports Corporate Identity: The Difficulties and Pleasures of Working in Wood When long-time client Pinkergreen, a well-regarded architectural firm, called to say they were designing an office for a CEO who wanted a piece of reclaimed wood as the basis of his Main Reception Corporate Identify Sign, we accepted the challenge with gusto. Starting with the cherry finish planned for their office space, we worked through our normal channels on sourcing some attractive reclaimed wood to match. Our client wanted the wood to be in one solid piece, rather than having it glued or notched,as it would be if we made it up from smaller pieces. What made the challenge even more difficult was the desire to have

Monoosnoc Brook Greenway Project

The Atlantic Ocean has many tributaries in North America, including: Massachusett’s famed Merrimack River, which is fed by The Nashua River, which receives a good deal of its water from The North Nashua River, which includes more than a little flow from The Monoosnoc Brook, some 50 miles inland from Boston. It’s a little stream, to be sure, but the Monoosnoc Brook has played a big part in the founding and subsequent growth of Leominster, MA, and the surrounding areas. More than 275 years ago, for example, the Monoosnoc Brook’s sparkling, tumbling waters were first harnessed to power a variety of paper, grist, oil, and other mills. Nurtured by its plentiful flow, the town grew and prospered for many years.

Financial Return on a Signage Investment – Advertising Analysis

In an effort to clarify some of the complexities that often accompany deciding whether and when to buy new (or upgrade existing) signage, Metro Sign and Awning has now developed what we think of as an important new tool: The Return On Sign Investment Calculator. This innovative, computerized system lets you specify some of the variables involved in your next signage decision, helps you nail down other variables, and then instantly provides two different views as to whether or not spending that money on new or upgraded signage makes good business sense. One of those views is a straightforward “Advertising Analysis.” This perspective is both valuable and rare. It allows you to compare the cost of new or upgraded signage

Boston Children’s Hospital Gets New Outdoor Signs

When Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) determined its ongoing rebranding program – which covers BCH Boston, as well as BCH Martha Eliot in Jamaica Plain, BCH Waltham, and BCH Lexington – required new signage, Metro Sign and Awning was happy to oblige. To begin with, BCH Boston initially contacted its existing sign vendor, Sign Systems Solutions (SSS), for help with this project. However, SSS quickly passed the call along to Metro Sign, asking us to do the actual surveying, fabrication, and installation of the new signs. (A different contractor works with BCH Peabody.) In total, Sign Systems designed and we built ten new signs for the hospital operating company: One sign with dimensional letters set on a curved radius Three new

EMCs Examined: Sign Technology Has Come a Long, Long Way

EMCs Examined: Sign Technology Has Come a Long, Long Way I walked into my local grocer the other day and was surprised and pleased to see a brand new Samsung video screen hung high over the counter and used as an Electronic Message Center (EMC). With its text and graphics capabilities, it is everything you could want a sign to be: vivid, clear, attention grabbing, and memorable. It’s also cost effective. The sight made me think back over the history of variable message signs, and reflect on just how far we’ve come in the sign industry. Movable Type Mechanically variable signs have been around for a longtime. Think about movie theater marquees, for example, where letters and numbers were physically attached

How Much Does a Sign Cost? Return on Sign Investment Calculator Has the Answer

That big sign outside your door – it’s more than just a nameplate for your business. It’s even more than a landmark for local citizens giving directions, or an iconic image of your business. It’s an investment – pure and simple. And like all investments, it produces a return … a return that smart business owners and managers naturally want to be able to quantify. Until now, however, calculating the return on signage investments was rarely attempted, and difficult to complete. That’s no longer true. As of right now, calculating the return on your signage investment has become a piece of cake. That’s because we’ve built and made publicly available our proprietary Return on Signage Investment Calculator at How-Much-Does-A-Sign-cost.com. To

Signs That It’s a Great Country: Happy Independence Day!

While Metro Sign & Awning is happy to call Boston home, we get excited when we’re fabricating signage for a West Coast architectural firm or designing custom signs for businesses based in Texas, or Tennessee. We’re just as proud to say we’re installing pylon signs in South Carolina as we are showing off photos of a giant banner in Chicago (or even a local sports team). What’s our point? As the Fourth of July approaches, we remember that no matter where we go in this land, there are always signs reminding us that we’re ever so grateful to be here. Happy Birthday, U.S.A.!
